Today’s the last day of the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.

I’ve spent the previous two days reporting on it for my weekly gig The Bugle and for Comic Book Resources.

In my downtime I asked Gail Simone to sign the first volume of Dynamite’s “Red Sonja” and picked up a copy of “Xinemorph: An Alien Fan Zine” from my buddy Dave Scheidt’s table.

I’ve got two more articles to file for CBR and then I’m going to relax with some beers and “Game of Thrones.” Ω

Lisa Hanawalt is terrifying

photoThis past weekend my girlfriend Julie and I headed to Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE) at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted. The expo is a weekend-long celebration of independent comics, inspired by Chicago’s legacy as home to many underground and alternative comic artists. It features comics and zines for sale, workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions and signings. Continue reading
